Whichever guna is predominating will affect how we perceive the world
around us.
For example, a person who is predominantly tamasic will see
everything as negative and destructive.
A person who is more satvic will perceive the universe as positive and
will find joy and happiness in everything.
However the mind is very unstable and can fluctuate very easily.

Out of the three gunas Satva is the purest guna. Satva guna is a force
which is favorable for attaining moksha.
A person can be called as Satvik if he/she has predominance of Satva
guna in the body and mind.
A mind which is Satvik in nature doesn't need much to be happy- it can
find happiness within.
2. Rajas- Rajas is the Guna of passion and manipulation.
Rajas is nothing but the active quality. Rajas guna in people drives
more passion and desire in them which can subsequently lead to greed
and restlessness.
Rajas is the quality of energy ,movement activity, action and change.
higher Rajasic energy is useful for athletes but excess of rajas guna

When rajas influence dominates there is a desire for acquisition of thing and attachment to things already acquired.
Life is like driving a car with power steering and power brakes.
3. Tamas -Tamas manifests itself as impurity, laziness and darkness.
It is the consequence of ignorance and it prevents all beings from
seeing reality. Under this influence men's intellectual capacity to discriminate between right and wrong gets affected.
Tamas guna is essentially the material quality . tamas arises from
hopes and illusions.
A Tamasic person focuses all his interest and attention upon himself/herself.all his actions or perceptions, emotions and thoughts are for the welfare of himself/herself. But the world is not designed to cater any particular individual. As a result this demands remain unfulfilled. The mind of Tamasik person is never at rest, its always discontented and disturbed.
